conservation and cuteness

Finding things to do isn’t always the easiest and now with the sun shining it can be even more overwhelming. No fear, however, we’ve found some fantastic local Devonshire days out which are both eco-conscious and fun.

Occombe farm

Conservation is central to this farm’s function. We love how they support sustainability by providing Biomass (a low-carbon emission source of energy) for local companies. More info here https://www.countryside-trust.org.uk/about/conservation-caretakers/

Totnes Rarebreeds Farm

The clue’s in the name – this farm helps to conserve rare breeds. Not only are they helping to maintain the population of rare breeds but the farm was once situated on wasteland. It is now a budding farm which helps to conserve the environment. More info here http://www.totnesrarebreeds.co.uk/about-the-farm.html

The Big Sheep

This local farm has made several changes to how they run in aid of the environment. Including: swapping out plastic for wood and installing a biomass boiler. More info here https://www.thebigsheep.co.uk/about-us/
